INTERNATIONAL KITE & WIND FESTIVAL
FRIDAY 13-14TH OCTOBER 2022
The Xewkija Windmill is always open from Monday to Sunday from 8.30am till 8.30pm – Free Entrance
A traditional kite making demonstration is being held on Thursday 13th and Friday 15th October 2022 from 9am till noon.
SATURDAY 15TH OCTOBER 2022
10.00am till sunset- Flying display of kites of all shapes and sizes animated by a number of foreign professionals kite flyers.
10.00am-4.00pm – Kite making workshops for ages 4 years and upwards (minors to be accompanied by an adult)

10.00am -6.00pm – Free children entertainment including face painting, balloon modelling and special characters.
Bookings are open.
(Bookings may close earlier than 14/10 if the maximum number of participants for workshops is reached).
International renowned kite flyers will be performing acrobatic kite tricks and routines to music and kite making workshops.
There will also be kites on site for sale, children’s area, food and drink vendors, live play black music, a traditional fair, pony rides, characters, sand crafts and more.
7.30pm – Open air BBQ Dinner, free entertainment and area for kids.

Evening will end with a Pyrotechnical fireworks display.
SUNDAY 16TH OCTOBER
All activities happening at limits of San Dimitri, Għarb.
9.00am – Kite flying spectacle, including kites built during workshops.
Display of handmade kites and competition. Points will be given on kite artistic features, originality, technique and construction and awards will be given. The evaluation board will include foreign professional kite makers.

There are two categories: Handmade kite and Off-The-Shelf kite. Three prizes in each of the categories. Bookings open till Sunday 16 October 13.00 hours.
10.00am – Traditional San Dimitri Fair
10.00am -6.00pm – Free children entertainment including face painting, balloon modelling and special characters, pony rides and more.
There will also be kites on site for sale, children’s area, food and drink vendors, live play back music and a traditional fair.
3.30pm – Traditional celebration in honour of San Dimitri with the participation of children at San Dimitri Chapel.
5.00pm – Kids Surprise Event
6.45pm – Traditional Bonfire and fireworks and for the first year an organized fireworks synchronized with music by Ghaqda tan-Nar 31 ta’ Mejju, Gharb AD 2013.
Mass at San Dimitri Chapel at 4.00pm and 6.00pm.
SHUTTLE TRANSPORT Service from Victoria Main Parking to San Dimitri every 30 mins. Fee €1.50 return ticket.
Saturday 15th October
Victoria – Għarb from 11.00am till 6.00pm.
Għarb – Victoria last shuttle service 10.00pm.
Sunday 16th October
Victoria – Għarb from 10.00am till 6.00pm.
