Inauguration of the Gharb Health Centre
During the past months, the Council has been carrying out works on the on the restoration of the Gharb Health Centre. Part of the works that were carried out included also an extension to the health centre which now comprises of a lecture room, reception area, waiting room, examination room and consultation room. Apart from this with the help of the Primary Health Section within the Parliamentary Secretary for Health the Council managed to equip this centre with new medical equipment. The residents and all those who seek service from this Health Centre are now benefiting from more comfort in such services. Activities for the official opening of the health centre were held on two days. On the first day the Gharb Gozo College Karmni Grima Primary School participated in the events where a Healthy Breakfast was organized along with physical activities and medical checkups. Primary Health officials accompanied the Mayor who visited the school during these activities. On the 26th of February the inauguration of the Health Centre was held by the Parliamentary Secretary for Health Hon. Chris Fearne together with Mayor David Apap Agius, Deputy Mayor and Councillors. The Archpriest Joseph Sultana blessed the Centre. The students of l-Gharb Gozo College welcomed the Parliamentary Secretary with a poem reading. Speeches for the occasion were given by Parliamentary Secretary and Mayor. Physical exercises were also given to Gharb Gozo College Students as part of this event.
